Using the right torque wrench is essential to ensure you don’t under- or over-torque the nuts. We had an issue with some trailers experiencing frequent stud failures on the road. It turned out that one of our shops was using a torque stick with an extension, resulting in values significantly lower than specified. Despite knowing better, they thought they were saving time and it was worth the trade-off. After a few tires and rims came off trailers, it became clear they were wrong! We ended up investing in new wrenches and proper calibration, but our stud problems largely disappeared.
