These are the same hoses I replaced this summer while I was in Flint, Michigan. I believe it was CarQuest that made them up for me. They were hydraulic lines replaced with a rubber and synthetic hose material that encloses stainless steel mesh. These hoses are rated for up to 600 degrees and 16,000 lbs.
I mentioned that 16,000 lbs seemed like overkill, but they pointed out that the 600 degrees F rating was crucial. In the engine compartment, where these hoses are routed, heat was the primary cause of the hose failure.
