Today as I was draining the coolant and noticed a hole in the side of the muffler.  It appears something on the road flew up and cut a hole about 2 inches long on the inboard side of the muffler.  It is not a rust hole but a cut.  The muffler seems solid.I really don’t want to buy a new muffler.  Has any one welded on a muffler with any sucess? I have been thinking of a patch of some kind.  Tomorrow I will inspect the tires on the muffler side of the coach for any damage.

      Larry,

I patched one with thin metal, used rivets to secure and high temp caulking for stove pipes.

Just a quick message of caution if you or someone says they can repair your muffler with a quick weld.

Unplug  and swithch off every toggle switch you have unplug from shore power  and most important…… make sure your invertors are turned off.

A good muffler shop should be able to gas weld it.
