we started fine this morning , after sitting for five days. We drove three hours, stopped for fuel, turn the engine off, started the engine moved away from the pumps, shut the engine off went inside to eat, when we returned , The dash lights came on momentarily then went off and the coach would not start. We started the generator flipped on the 24V charging switch, nothing, reset the safety switch   Inside side door , dash lights came on let the  batteries charge for 45 minutes and nothing. Engine does not struggle to turn over for anything. From reading the generator amperage gauges it appears that the batteries are not charging at this time. We are safely in a truckstop in Loveock Nevada. Any ideas? Starting batteries are new this year. It is like a blow fuse.

I know you said the dash lights came on momentarily but did you check you battery disconnect down by the key?  I know I blame everything on my 5 year old but that has been hit by accident and you will have a dead key when you go to turn it on.

I had something similar happen one time.  Stopped, put my flashers on, and shut the key off.  I left to take care of something and when I came back I turned the flashers off right before I went to start the bus.  I turned the key and nothing (all dash lights were on like usual) happened.  I had to turn the flashers back on for the bus to start THEN turn them off.  I thought that was odd but just made a mental note to do the procedure in reverse.  Not sure why that happpened.

Also, Id check the rear grey box above the engine in the engine bay and do a visual with the solenoid(s) and make sure the rear start is not engaged (not sure how that could happen but Im just trying to help).  A solenoid could look burned, etc.  You may need a multimeter, etc. to check further.

Maybe see if the bus will start on the rear button?

      Roy,

Call PASS they will walk you through the diagnosis since it’s chassis related.

      Thanks Patrick,Tom,

The area beneath the key is enclosed. I can not easily get to the back of it.   I have talked with Jeff Rowe.  We have determined that the batteries do not have enough charge to start the coach.  we are sitting on a big truck lot charging the batteries off the generator and build-in charger.  We probably will stay here tonight and let the charger have all night. The charger is a 24v 35 amp charger.  I’m no EE but I think that will take a while.  I checked and tighten the battery cables. They were not sloppy loose but looser than I thought they should be.

Then the the question is why I are the batteries not charging from the engine;  alternator, regulator? We will see what happens in the morning.   I will post the results.
