On Inspection of the pulleys, the two pictured had stiff/rough spots when spun. Prevost said the pulleys themselves are no longer available for my coach. Has anyone replaced these bearings? If so where did you buy the bearings or do you have a part number?

      Thanks

Just replaced mine, i used NSK EP30BD6227T12DDUKC01

      MA6L 908

These are a good quality Japanese bearing

Take Care when removing the retaining bolt in the centre of the bearing, i think its the lower one that is a left hand tread, have a look at the rotation of the pulley before removing the belt, you will see which one rotates anti clock, that one is the left hand thread.

      Thanks Dan and Mike!

      47inter-

Thanks for the part number ( NSK EP30BD6227T12DDUKC01) and the good tip about the left handed thread on the pulley.

What does MA6L 908 refer to?

Not sure, if you google the number i gave you it will bring up the bearings, im sure there are other manufacturers that will cross reference to that bearing spec.

Install Detroit Diesel upgrade alternator belt tensioner kit #23527060 for early 60 series like mine. Sometimes available on ebay etc for $800 or less.

      WOW! Very Cool!

Is it basically bolt on or were modifications necessary?  Was your fill tube housing always where it is now, or did you move it over to the lower position to accommodate the auto tensioner?

      Easy bolt on.

Original filler neck wouldn’t work. It was located where the new spring tensioner arm goes.

I found DD # 23523134 for cheap used on ebay. That’s what you see in the picture.

Rumor has it DD filler # 23517439 will work too.

      Auto adjust, and looks great!

I looked on ebay and found the kits, for $950. and up. Found a couple online from truck part suppliers for 1k. I may just do bearings for right now, since I have a lot of other stuff, brakes, tires, batteries going on. But down the road this definitely looks like the way to go.
