Looking at add for 2000 Prevost Royale VIP H345 with a slide. Does anyone know anything about hese slides and issues with slides in this age of coach?  What about other issues with fiber glass etc.

      Thanks

We have a ’98 H3-45 with 2 slides… I understand that this was the first year for a slide in an H3-45… they were installed by the converters or for the converters I believe and were usually an HWH slide. We have 2 HWH slides and love them…maintenance is the key with your coach… we are still learning daily.

Our slides have been great we have only replaced the power switch on the rear slide… they work very well for us. When we had a levelling issue they wouldn’t lock… that took me an hour or so to figure out, then all was well again. I couldn’t enjoy a coach without slides … we went from a 4 slide plastic coach down to 2 slides without any problem, however.

If the slide is an HWH and works well I wouldn’t anticipate any problems, if it’s another brand I would check with someone who has one. I don’t think Prevost installed any slides in an H model unitl 2004 or later. HWH is the most used slide out there overall, so parts are not an issue.

As far as fiberglass issues, none that I’m aware of…

Good luck with your shopping … that’s the fun part.

      Cheers,

      Diane

Thank you Diane, I see you have a two slide coach. Are they HWH with the air gasket seals? Do you know who installed your slides?

      Thanks

      Jim…

Our slides are HWH and they have rubber gaskets no “air seals”  for which I am very grateful as we just replaced all the rubber and it was a VERY simple project to do compared to the airseals… I have heard a lot of pros & cons about the air seals but not ever having them I can’t pass judgement…. I know that we are happy with the way ours are and we have no air or water leaks and they don’t squeak !

About the installation…. I have heard 2 stories… one being that Vantare installed them & another that they were contracted out for installation… so I can’t answer that question… I do know that ours are well aligned and work great…. what more can I say?

Perhaps someone else knows the answer to that and will chime in??

      Anyone out there know??

      Regards & Cheers,

      Diane
