I’m looking for a “circulating coolant water high point air vent” for my coach. This device is mounted at the end of a coolant line positioned at a high point, allowing it to vent any trapped air as the Webasto circulates hot water. It’s clamped onto the end of a coolant hose that’s mounted high.

Any suggestions on where to find this part?

      Thanks,
      Hector

Wow, Hector, this is the first time I’ve heard of such an air relief.

If there is a high point air relief that’s functioning correctly (and maybe that’s the key), it’s surprising that “burping” the system still seems like such a project when changing out coolant. You’d think a high point air relief would make it easier…

I’m also keen to hear more about this!

Look under the front window stbd. side. There is a manual vent valve there, if that’s what you are talking about.

On my coach, as well as my previous one, there are multiple vents for the Webasto system. Each heat exchanger (radiator) has a vent at its high point where the coolant enters the cabin of the coach; these vents are accessible through removable panels.

I also found vents on the OTR heating system: one under the dash, as Jim pointed out, and another at the large heat exchanger in the third bay, roadside. When I recently changed the coolant, I bled all these vents, but I still had to add 2 gallons after my first long trip. Clearly, I didn’t get all the air out of the system.

Hector, I know, I know! Pick me! Our buses are close in age, so they’re probably in the same place. On mine, it’s in the same compartment that houses the Webasto. You’ll find it on the left, in the corner just inside the door. My two circulation pumps are right of the valve.

Thanks all. I also posted on Prevost Community and was also answered there. I got the info I need.

      Thanks again,
      Hector
